A geography quiz at neighbourhood scale

Everyday geography is about more than countries, capitals and flags. You may know the shape of your neighbourhood, its shops and your usual routes perfectly well while still hesitating over a street name. Name This Street turns that implicit knowledge into a game.

A different way to learn street names

The map connects each street name with its position, direction and surrounding environment. The game’s suggested reviews encourage progressive recall, without claiming to replace a scientifically validated learning method.

A map-based quiz that asks you to identify streets in an area of your choice.

How does the quiz work?

A street is highlighted and its name is hidden. You choose the correct answer from four options.

Can I play in my own city?

Yes, provided the map contains enough named streets in the selected area.

Is it free and does it require an account?

It is free, requires no sign-up and runs directly in your browser.

How does learning mode work?
